Murray is 8-2 against Hillcrest since January of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Murray Spartans will look to defend their home court against the Hillcrest Huskies at 7:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Murray has three straight wins, Hillcrest has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Murray scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 79-53 margin over Park City. Given Murray's advantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked 34th, while Park City is ranked 105th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Murray to victory, but perhaps none more so than Quinton Christman, who scored 14 points along with five assists and four steals. Christman has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaiah Beh, who scored 13 points along with seven assists and seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, Hillcrest fought the good fight in their overtime match against Tooele on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell to the Buffaloes 56-52.
Murray is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season. As for Hillcrest, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-13 record this season.
Murray didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Hillcrest in their previous meeting back in January, but they still walked away with a 52-46 win. Does Murray have another victory up their sleeve, or will Hillcrest turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
