The Sonoraville Phoenix's's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They fell just short of Heritage by a score of 22-19. The match was a 7-7 toss-up at halftime, but Sonoraville was just barely outscored by Heritage in the second.
When it comes to explaining why Sonoraville lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jaxon Pate. Despite the final result, he threw for 171 yards and two touchdowns.
The critical scores for Heritage came from Evan Wingrove, Max Owens, and Jc Armour.
Sonoraville's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Heritage, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-3.

Southeast Whitfield County is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses. As for Heritage, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Central at 7:30 p.m. Central is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
