After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Maple Heights, the Lake Catholic Cougars were happy to have found some success on Tuesday. They secured a 74-69 W over Holy Name. The win was all the more spectacular given Lake Catholic's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 449th, while Holy Name is ranked 84th).
Lake Catholic's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Cross Nimmo, who scored 20 points along with eight rebounds. That's the first time this season that Nimmo scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Peyton Budrys rini, who scored 21 points.
Lake Catholic now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Holy Name, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.
Lake Catholic will be home for the holidays to greet Fairview at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Fairview's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season. Holy Name will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Padua Franciscan at 6:00 p.m. on December 22nd. Padua Franciscan comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
