Make it six blowout wins for the Oakville Acorns this season. They took their matchup on the road on Thursday with ease, bagging a 50-21 win over Washington School for the Deaf. The victory was just what Oakville needed coming off of a 50-22 defeat in their prior match.
It was another big night for Alyssa Forsythe, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 18 rebounds. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 12 games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Laela Baker, who scored 11 points.
Oakville's victory bumped their record up to 7-10. As for Washington School for the Deaf, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-11 record this season.
Oakville will be playing at home against the Terriers at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Washington (Washington School for the Deaf is ranked 314th, while the Acorns are ranked 316th). As for Washington School for the Deaf, they will head out on the road to take on the Acorns at 6:00 p.m.
