The Chicopee Comp Colts will be playing at home against the Pittsfield Generals at 12:30 p.m. on Monday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Chicopee Comp's recent rough patch got a bit rougher back in December of 2023 after their fourth straight loss dating back to last season. They fell just short of Tantasqua Regional by a score of 67-64. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Meanwhile, Pittsfield unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 50-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of Minnechaug Regional.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Kyana Summers, who scored six points along with eight rebounds and five steals. That's the first time this season that she pulled down eight or more rebounds. Harolyn Castillo was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with seven rebounds.
Chicopee Comp's defeat was their third straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-1. As for Pittsfield, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-3.
Chicopee Comp suffered a grim 56-30 defeat to Pittsfield when the teams last played back in February of 2023. Thankfully for Chicopee Comp, Jamie Duquette (who scored 18 points along with five rebounds and two steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
