LaBelle and Immokalee are an even 5-5 against one another since November of 2014, but not for long. The LaBelle Cowboys/Cowgirls on the road again on Tuesday and play against the Immokalee Indians at 7:00 p.m. on January 16th. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
LaBelle posted their biggest victory yet this season on Friday. Everything went their way against Island Coast as LaBelle made off with a 74-52 victory. The win was just what LaBelle needed coming off of a 78-54 loss in their prior game.
LaBelle got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Alan King jr out in front who scored 24 points along with seven rebounds and seven steals. King jr is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Levi Phillips, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Immokalee scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They skirted past IMG Academy Silver 96-94. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
LaBelle's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-10. As for Immokalee, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-7.
LaBelle came up short against Immokalee in their previous matchup back in November of 2023, falling 75-68. Can LaBelle avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
