Baseball Recap: Hilbert Wins Going Away Against Sheboygan Area Lutheran

Hilbert won against Manitowoc Lutheran on Monday with 11 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Tuesday. The Wolves were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Sheboygan Area Lutheran Crusaders. The matchup marked the Wolves' most dominant win of the season so far.

Ayden Keuler and Drew Halbach made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Keuler tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Meanwhile, Halbach pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five). At the plate, Keuler got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs, two RBI, and one double, while Halbach got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs. That double marked the first that Keuler has hit this season.

In other batting news, Brody Hein was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Spencer Karls, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Hilbert hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Sheboygan Area Lutheran struck out eight times.

The victory made it two in a row for Hilbert and bumps their season record up to 4-7. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-11 Sheboygan Area Lutheran and 3-5 Manitowoc Lutheran. As for Sheboygan Area Lutheran, their defeat was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-11.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hilbert will challenge Manitowoc Lutheran at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Wolves are facing the Lancers at the right time seeing as the Lancers are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Sheboygan Area Lutheran, they will square off against North Fond du Lac at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
