The Davenport Wolves will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against the Jones Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on November 17th. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Davenport walked away with it. They really took it to Fredericksburg for the full four quarters, racking up a 62-14 victory on the road. Considering Davenport has won seven contests by more than 20 points this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Davenport found their leader in underclassman Barrett Fallon, who rushed for 165 yards and two touchdowns on only 15 carries, and also caught a touchdown. Fallon was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 61 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Triston Hamlin, who threw for 191 yards and four touchdowns.
Even though Jones has not done well against Calallen recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Jones had just enough and edged Calallen out 27-25.
Jones got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Darion Perez out in front who rushed for 77 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries. Elijah Sustaita was another key contributor, rushing for 55 yards and a touchdown on only five carries.
Davenport has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. As for Jones, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 8-3.
