The Eastlake Wolves will take on the Mount Si Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Eastlake will come into the game with an undefeated record on the line.
Eastlake is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Oak Harbor with a sharp 11-3 victory on Saturday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.
Sanath Chari looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Larson Kohlman, who went 2-for-4 with five RBI, one run, and one double. That double was his first of the season. Noah Koong was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.
Meanwhile, Mount Si played in-conference for the first time on Monday and they got just the result they were looking for. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Woodinville, sneaking past 3-2. The three-run effort marked the Wildcats' lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.
Mount Si also got a great performance from Owen Krasowski as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched. Krasowski also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Mount Si is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 0-2-1 otherwise.
At the plate, Matthew Talbot was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
Eastlake's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-0. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Mount Si, they now have a winning record of 3-2-1.
Eastlake couldn't quite finish off Mount Si when the teams last played back in April of 2024 and fell 7-5. Can Eastlake avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
