The Dolores Bears's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Ridgway Demons at 11:00 a.m. on January 13th. Hopefully Dolores focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 30 on Tuesday.
Last Tuesday, Dolores came up short against Sargent and fell 61-48. While losing is never fun, Dolores can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 274th, while Sargent is ranked 79th).
Despite the defeat, Dolores saw an underclassman step up: Koby McClellan scored 16 points.
Meanwhile, Ridgway's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight loss. The matchup between Ridgway and Telluride wasn't particularly close, with Ridgway falling 56-42. Ridgway has struggled against Telluride recently, as their game on Wednesday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Dolores now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Ridgway, they bumped their record down to 1-4 with that loss, which was their third straight at home.
Dolores came up short against Ridgway in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, falling 55-49. Can Dolores avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
