The Fleming Colonels will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against the Freeman Mavericks at 7:00 p.m. on November 17th. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Fleming had no problem doing just that on Friday. They walked away with a 23-16 win over Patrick Henry.
Even though Freeman has not done well against Hermitage recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Freeman secured a 46-41 W over Hermitage. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Freeman to victory, but perhaps none more so than Butter Stephenson, who rushed for 227 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 11.4 yards per carry. Jadyn Reece was another key contributor, rushing for 123 yards and two touchdowns on only nine carries.
Fleming has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. As for Freeman, they pushed their record up to 8-3 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road.
