On Tuesday Porter Murff struck out six batters over 4.2 innings while giving up three earned runs off eight hits. The performance also marked the fewest walks (two) Murff has had since back in March. As if that's not impressive enough, the pitching appearance was his fifth in a row with more than six strikeouts. This season, he has an ERA of 2.07 over 23.7 innings pitched.

Looking ahead, Murff and Clarksville will host Green Hill at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Wildcats got just the result they wanted when they last faced the Hawks thanks in part to Murff: he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out ten over five innings pitched.
