Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a  season-high score is even better (just ask La Serna). Everything went their way against the Whittier Cardinals on Tuesday as they made off with  a  17-2 win. The result was nothing new for the Lancers, who have now won eight matches by six  runs or more  so far this season.
 Cann Puig looked comfortable as she  tossed two innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   one  hit.
 On the hitting side,  Aubrie Baruch was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with three  runs, three  doubles,  and three  RBI. Those  three  doubles gave  her a new career-high.  Mariah Mihecoby also deserves some recognition as  she  hit her first  triple of the season.
 La Serna  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .611. That's the best  OBP they've posted all season.
The  victory made it two in a row for La Serna and  bumps their season record up to 14-9. Those  wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 6  runs in those games. As for Whittier, their loss dropped their record down to 2-15.
 We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. La Serna will  square off against  rival California  at 3:15  p.m.  on Thursday. Meanwhile, Whittier is set to  take on  their familiar foe Santa Fe  at 3:15  p.m.  on Thursday.
