This season hasn't been kind to the Salem Generals, who are still winless after their 16th game. They lost to Fort Edward at home by a decisive 50-31 margin on Tuesday. Salem was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Flying Forts apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
Loss or not, Salem got some senior leadership from Josh Harrington and David Miller. Harrington almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 13 rebounds, while Miller. scored six points along with ten rebounds and two steals. It was the first time this season that Miller pulled down eight or more rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kiernan Haskell, who scored two points along with eight rebounds.
Salem's defeat was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-16. As for Fort Edward, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-8.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Salem will take on the Lakers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Lake George presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Generals in New York (the Lakers are ranked 293rd, while the Generals are ranked 830th). As for Fort Edward, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hadley Luzerne is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
