The Sheridan Blackhawks will challenge the Clinton Central Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Sheridan has given up an average of 10.5 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Sheridan is headed into Tuesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Monday. They came up short against Frankton, falling 18-5.
Caleb Alexander was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Chance Spencer, who went 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, while Clinton Central put up some runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for Taylor. The Bulldogs came out on top against the Titans by a score of 5-0. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Titans recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
Dillon Heaton was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 19 over seven innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Clinton Central is 3-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 2-3 otherwise. Heaton was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.
Heaton wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Brady Boone, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. Clinton Central is undefeated when Boone posts two or more stolen bases, but 2-4 otherwise. Carson O'Brien was another, earning one RBI, one run, and two stolen bases.
Sheridan's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Clinton Central, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
