Baseball Recap: Milby Has No Trouble Against Westbury

Milby won the last time they faced Westbury and things went their way on Friday too. Milby was the clear victor by an 11-1 margin over Westbury. The result was nothing new for the Buffs, who have now won seven matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Ethan Ramirez, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2. The team also got some help courtesy of Cristobal Escobar, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

Milby always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .548. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Westbury only posted an OBP of .167.

The win made it two in a row for Milby and bumps their season record up to 9-6. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 3 runs in those games. As for Westbury, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-5-1.

Looking ahead, Milby will head out to square off against Austin at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Westbury, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Galena Park at 7:30 p.m. on April 15.
