Harbor is 0-10 against Aptos since March of 2020 but things could change on Tuesday. The Pirates will welcome the Mariners at 4:30 p.m. Harbor has given up an average of 9.8 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Harbor lost 19-2 to San Lorenzo Valley on Thursday.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Aptos). They never let Gonzales get on the board and left with a 14-0 victory on Saturday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Mariners considering their one-run performance the matchup before.
Sofia Marin made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. Marin was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Kalina Healy and Gwen Vaca did most of the damage at the plate: Healy went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI, while Vaca went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles. That's the most RBI Healy has posted since back in May of 2025. Cara Allshouse was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Aptos hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in five consecutive games.
Aptos' win bumped their record up to 8-4. As for Harbor, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.
Harbor's speedy runners might be the difference in Tuesday's contest. The Pirates have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 8 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Aptos, though, as they've been averaging only 1.3 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Harbor continue to outrun the ball?
Harbor suffered a grim 10-0 defeat to Aptos when the teams last played back in May of 2025. Will the Pirates have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more softball content.
