Bridgeport have had to suffer through a 4-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They had just enough and edged out Gibbon 22-20.
Gibbon got a solid performance out of sophomore Matthew Weismann, who passed for 320 yards and 2 touchdowns; unfortunately, it just wasn't enough for the win. Additional support came from defensive powerhouse junior Chi Onate, who racked up 13 tackles.
The victory bumped Bridgeport's record up to 1-4. Gibbon are still searching for that first win as they fell to 0-5.
Bridgeport will look to defend their home turf next week against St. Patrick's. Both teams seek to continue their momentum from their previous wins. As for Gibbon, they will face off against St. Paul.
