The Billingsley Bears and the Verbena Red Devils will face off at 6:30 p.m. on February 2nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around on Friday.
Last Tuesday, Billingsley was the victim of a tough 63-42 defeat at the hands of the Bobcats.
Billingsley's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Mason Truesdale, who scored nine points along with three steals, and Kyle Boice who scored 12 points along with six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Hudson Manning, who scored nine points.
Meanwhile, Verbena's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their 13th straight defeat. They had to suffer through a rough 86-45 loss at the hands of Notasulga. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Verbena in their matchups with the Blue Devils: they've now lost eight in a row.
Billingsley has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-15 record this season. As for Verbena, they dropped their record down to 2-17 with that defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road.
Billingsley beat the Red Devils 59-48 in their previous meeting on Monday. Does Billingsley have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Red Devils turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
