Laguna Creek is 0-3 against Antelope since March of 2016 but things could change on Monday. The Cardinals will square off against the Titans at 12:30 p.m. Laguna Creek's pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so Antelope's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Antelope will challenge a team with plenty of momentum: Laguna Creek extended their winning streak to three on Friday. The Cardinals' pitcher stepped up to hand Cosumnes Oaks a 16-0 shutout. With that win, the Cardinals brought their scoring average up to 6.3 runs per game.

Ian Larot made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit over five innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Laguna Creek is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 6-7 otherwise. Larot was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-4. That's the most hits he has posted since back in February.
In other batting news, Laguna Creek let Connor Elliott and Miles Scaife run wild. Elliott went 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one double, while Scaife went a perfect 2-for-2 with two triples and three RBI. Those three RBI gave Scaife a new career-high. Sam Stires was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.
Laguna Creek kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in four consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Antelope, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged out McClatchy 3-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Titans have posted since April 26, 2024.
Tristan Hofferber spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been consistent : he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Kaden Coates was excellent, scoring two runs while going 2-for-2. Braden Porter also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Antelope's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-8. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Laguna Creek, the win got them back to even at 8-8.
Laguna Creek suffered a grim 10-1 defeat to Antelope in their previous matchup back in April of 2019. Can the Cardinals avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
