Falcon has gone a perfect 7-0 against Pueblo South recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Falcon Falcons will be playing in front of their home fans against the Pueblo South Colts at 3:30 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Falcon is looking to give their home crowd another W after opening their season at home on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Holy Family, sneaking past 5-3.
Parker Cordova looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched.
At the plate, David Ada and Ethan Gentz did most of the damage at the plate: Ada scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2, while Gentz scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2. That's the most runs Ada has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Brayden Millikan, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI.
Meanwhile, Pueblo South came tearing into Saturday's match with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.7 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Falcons a 10-0 shutout. The Colts might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by seven runs or more this season.
Caeden Herrera was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out six over six innings pitched. What's more, he gave up only two walks, the fewest he's had since back in May of 2024. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.
In other batting news, Pueblo South let Damian Cordova and Israel Allen run wild. Cordova scored three runs while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances, while Allen scored two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. MJ Molina was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI.
Pueblo South was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .444. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Everything went Falcon's way against Pueblo South in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, as Falcon made off with a 12-1 win. Will Falcon repeat their success, or does Pueblo South have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
