The Garfield G-Men's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 55-54 to Crestview. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Garfield in their matchups with Crestview: they've now lost three in a row.
Garfield's loss came despite strong showings from Preston Gedeon and Nick Edic. Gedeon went 7 for 13 from beyond the arc en route to 27 points and 2 assists, while Edic scored 17 points along with five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Edic has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Cade Rock, who scored two points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Garfield has been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-9 record this season. As for Crestview, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-8.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Garfield will take on Brookfield at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Brookfield is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak. As for Crestview, they the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome LaBrae at 7:00 p.m. on January 16th. LaBrae presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Crestview in Ohio (LaBrae is ranked 136th, while Crestview is ranked 759th).
