On Tuesday, the East Fairmont Bees faced the Nitro Wildcats in a battle between two of the state's top teams. East Fairmont came out on top against Nitro by a score of 61-49. The victory was nothing new for East Fairmont as they're now sitting on three straight.
Nitro's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Timmy Lovejoy, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Ty Stephens, who scored 19 points.
East Fairmont has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. As for Nitro, their loss dropped their record down to 14-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. East Fairmont will take on Philip Barbour at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Nitro's road trip will continue as they head out to face Poca at 7:00 p.m. on February 9th. Hopefully Nitro focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Tuesday.
