While Orrville's victory against Smithville wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Red Riders won by a run and slipped past the Smithies 10-9. The win continues a trend for the Red Riders in their matchups with the Smithies: they've now won four in a row.

Orrville's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-10. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 1.33 runs across that stretch. As for Smithville, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-12.

Orrville wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, an 8-0 win against Canton South on the 12th. As for Smithville, they will welcome Chippewa at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Chipps will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Smithies surely won't give up without a fight.
