Central of Coosa County has been on the road for two straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will take on The Comer Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Central of Coosa County will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings (they are ranked 373rd, while Comer is ranked 109th).
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 50-8, which was the final score in Central of Coosa County's tilt against Fayetteville on Thursday.
Meanwhile, Comer put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their undefeated season alive. Everything went their way against Thorsby as Comer made off with a 35-13 victory. The result was nothing new for Comer, who have now won seven matchups by 22 points or more so far this season.
Comer can attribute much of their success to Kamore Harris, who rushed for 72 yards and a touchdown. Harris' longest rush was for an incredible 79 yards.
Central of Coosa County's loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 2-5. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 5.25 points per game. As for Comer, their win on Friday bumped their record up to 8-0.
Central of Coosa County was dealt a bruising 48-8 defeat at the hands of Comer when the teams last played back in October of 2022. Will Central of Coosa County have more luck at home instead of on the road?
