Meanwhile, after low-scoring totals in their previous three contest, Norfolk brought some dynamite into their most recent matchup. They put the hurt on Fremont with a sharp 10-4 win on Monday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Panthers as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Norfolk also got a great performance from Brenden Flood as he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched.
At the plate, Maddox Magnussen was a standout: he went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Noah Hinrichs, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Norfolk kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Norfolk's win bumped their record up to 7-15. As for Thurston-Cuming County, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-7.
