The Monroe Hornets lost against the Franklin Wildcats back in February, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Monroe fell just short of Franklin by a score of 47-44.
Franklin's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kai Cook, who scored 15 points along with 4 steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Cook has scored at least 25% of Franklin's points. Another player making a difference was Carter Black, who scored 16 points along with 5 rebounds.
Monroe's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Franklin, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Monroe will stay at home for another game and welcome Clinton-Massie at 7:15 p.m. on December 12th. Clinton-Massie is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games. As for Franklin, they will head out on the road to face off against Preble Shawnee at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Preble Shawnee presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Franklin in Ohio (Preble Shawnee is ranked eighth, while Franklin is ranked 236th).
