The Wolfe City Wolves fell victim to the Honey Grove Warriors''s stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They had to suffer through a rough 46-0 loss at the hands of the Warriors. It was the first time this season that Wolfe City let down their fans at home.
Carson Herron threw for 113 yards on eight of 15 attempts. Landin Tomiello was his top target, picking up 81 receiving yards. On the ground, Hd Davis rushed for 102 yards.
Ryelan Morris was a one-man wrecking crew for Honey Grove as he rushed for 158 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 8.3 yards per carry, and also threw for 200 yards and two touchdowns while completing 81.3% of his passes. The team also got some help courtesy of Deon Morris, who rushed for 109 yards and a touchdown on only 14 carries.
Wolfe City's loss dropped their record down to 7-2. As for Honey Grove, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 7-1-1.
Wolfe City will be playing at home against Rivercrest at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Honey Grove, they will head out on the road to face off against Como-Pickton at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Como-Pickton has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since September 2.
