Canutillo has gone a perfect 10-0 against Chapin recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Eagles will be playing in front of their home fans against the Huskies at 6:30 p.m. Canutillo is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last seven games.
On Tuesday, Canutillo was able to grind out a solid win over Burges, taking the game 4-1.
Rylee Estrada looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Ashton Dupri was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one home run. That home run was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Noah Pavia, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI.
Canutillo kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in seven consecutive contests.
Chapin not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since February 28th (when they won 22-3). They put the hurt on Jefferson with a sharp 16-5 victory. The Huskies haven't had any issues with the Silver Foxes recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.
Nathan Hurtado spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and four unearned) runs on three hits and racked up six Ks.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Nathan Sanchez, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, seven RBI, and three runs. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Harper Babb, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.
Canutillo's victory bumped their record up to 11-9. As for Chapin, their win bumped their record up to 11-8-1.
Friday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Canutillo hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .345. However, it's not like Chapin struggles in that department as they've averaged .364. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
