Covington is 8-2 against Riverside since May of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Buccaneers will be playing at home against the Pirates at 5:00 p.m. Covington will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
Covington's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Lehman Catholic with a sharp 24-0 victory. The Buccaneers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 matchups by six runs or more this season.

Jayda McClure made a splash no matter where she played. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over five innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in strikeouts (five). She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with five runs, five RBI, and one triple.
In other batting news, Emalyn Johnson was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and one triple. Karlee Schwartz was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.
Covington kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in nine consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Riverside came up short against Miami East on Tuesday, falling 9-1. The Pirates have struggled against the Vikings recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.
Riverside saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emilee Robinson, who went 2-for-4 with one RBI.
Covington's win bumped their record up to 13-2. As for Riverside, their loss dropped their record down to 8-8.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Thursday. Covington hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 2.1 home runs per game. However, it's not like Riverside struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.6 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
