Baseball Recap: North Clarion Takes a Loss

North Clarion extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to seven on Wednesday, dropping their season record down to 0-6 in the process. They came up short against Union/Allegheny-Clarion Valley, falling 18-3. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Union/Allegheny-Clarion Valley this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-0 two weeks ago.

North Clarion saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ryan Pappas, who went 2-for-3 with four stolen bases and one run. Pappas is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged two or more in each of the last five games he's played.

As for Union/Allegheny-Clarion Valley, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-3. The result was nothing new for Union/Allegheny-Clarion Valley, who have now won three contests by ten runs or more so far this season.

On Union/Allegheny-Clarion Valley's side, Connor Langdon was a standout: he got on base in four of his five plate appearances with four stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Those three runs gave Langdon a new career-high. Trent Fleming was another key player, going 1-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one triple.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. North Clarion will face off against Youngsville at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Union/Allegheny-Clarion Valley, they will challenge Reynolds at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
