After flying high against the Billingsley Bears last Thursday, the Notasulga Blue Devils came back down to earth. Notasulga fell just short of Loachapoka by a score of 48-46. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss Notasulga has suffered yet this season.
Loachapoka's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mitchell Chenier jr, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds. Chenier jr continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Zay Shaw, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds.
Notasulga has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season. As for Loachapoka, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-11.
Notasulga will head out on the road to face off against Verbena at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Loachapoka, Loachapoka and Billingsley will face off at 2:00 p.m. on January 22nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Billingsley focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Friday.
