2A - South recap October 8, 2013
Grand County and Summit Academy played the closest game in 2A - South this week, with Grand County eventually emerging with a 7-6 victory. Koi Cook threw for 97 yards and ran for 77 yards during the win.
North Sevier lost to Beaver 47-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Preston Snyder threw for 88 yards and ran for 32 yards in the loss.
Matthew Roberts was a key player and the best on defense this week as the Beavers beat North Sevier. He grabbed 1 interception and grabbed 1 sack.
Jesse McMullin provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Beaver topped Chuck Woodhouse's team. McMullin's favorite target this week was Michael Roberts, who caught 4 passes for 61 yards.
McMullin was the most successful running back in the league this week. He ran for 202 yards on 26 carries as Steve Hutchings' team fell to Parowan. Teammate Brennon Hutchings added to the ground attack by rushing for 72 yards.
The leading receiver in the league this season is Roberts. The Beaver star has 20 catches for 438 yards.
The Red Devils are in first place, while the Rams are in fourth place.
