The Waco Lions will head out on the road to take on the Killeen Kangaroos at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Waco and seven for Killeen.
Last Friday, Waco came up short against University and fell 51-42. While losing is never fun, Waco can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 735th, while University is ranked 44th).
Meanwhile, things could have been worse for Killeen, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 68-53 loss to Chaparral on Friday. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Killeen in their matchups with Chaparral: they've now lost three in a row.
Waco has not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-17 record this season. As for Killeen, their loss was their 11th straight at home, which bumped their record down to 3-22.
Waco and Killeen were neck-and-neck in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, but Waco came up empty-handed after a 56-55 defeat. Can Waco avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
