Valley Falls and Horton are an even 5-5 against one another since November of 2018, but not for long. The Valley Falls Dragons will head out on the road to face off against the Horton Chargers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Valley Falls focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Friday.
Valley Falls couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell 49-39 to Oskaloosa.
Korie Kirkwood put forth a good effort for the losing side as she dropped a double-double on 21 points and 11 rebounds. Maddison Conner was another key contributor, scoring 5 points along with 10 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Horton had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. Everything went their way against McLouth as Horton made off with a 57-33 win. With Horton ahead 36-13 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Valley Falls' defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Horton, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
Valley Falls strolled past Horton when the teams last played back in February by a score of 42-25. Does Valley Falls have another victory up their sleeve, or will Horton turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
