AAA District 11 recap October 29, 2013
The biggest upset of the week belonged to Independence, who defeated 32nd ranked Franklin, 29-28. RaShaan Gaulden caught 9 passes for 118 yards during the win.
Ravenwood extended the longest winning streak in AAA District 11 this week by beating Brentwood, 22-21. This was the team's fourth consecutive win.
Aaron Maher threw for 187 yards and 3 touchdowns. He was 16-24 with 1 interception.
Jackson Michie was a key player and the best on defense this week as the Rebels lost to the Eagles. The 6-foot-0 defensive end grabbed 2 sacks.
Otis Gerron provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Dickson County fell to Centennial.
Gerron was a beast in the backfield as the Cougars fell to the Cougars.
Maher put up the best numbers through the air as the Bruins fell to Ravenwood. Maher's favorite target this week was Andy Schumpert, who caught 5 passes for 85 yards.
6-foot-3 quarterback Joe Critchlow of Franklin is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1,634. He has also thrown 20 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Vic Wharton III. The Independence star has 44 catches for 801 yards.
As it stands, the Rebels are in second, while Centennial is in fourth.
The Cougars led the league in scoring this week after putting up 41 points on Dickson County.
