The Carlson Marauders will head out on the road to take on the Lincoln Park Railsplitters at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Carlson is hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses.
Carlson suffered their closest loss yet this season on Tuesday. They fell just short of Anderson by a score of 53-51.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Brendan Stanley, who scored nine points along with nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Austin Saavedra, who scored ten points.
Even though they lost, Carlson smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 23 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Lincoln Park strolled past Trenton with points to spare on Thursday, taking the game 54-38. Given Lincoln Park's advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 132nd, while Trenton is ranked 366th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Carlson's defeat dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Lincoln Park, their victory bumped their record up to 11-2.
Carlson came up short against Lincoln Park in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, falling 57-49. Can Carlson avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
