It was a good run, but the Rabun County Wildcats unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Saturday. The match between Rabun County and Union County wasn't particularly close, with Rabun County falling 75-59. While losing is never fun, Rabun County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 359th, while Union County is ranked 79th).
Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jack Hood, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds. Those 12 rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. Reed Burrell was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with six assists.
Rabun County's loss dropped their record down to 4-10. As for Union County, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-2.
Rabun County will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Stephens County at 6:00 p.m. on January 2nd. Stephens County is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak. Union County and Providence Christian Academy will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 2nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Providence Christian Academy has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 569 points over their last eight matches.
