Eastern Alamance didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Fike to a completion percentage of just 30%. That dominant aerial defense primarily came from two players: Christian Hester and Cayden McIver, who each logged one passes deflected. Eastern Alamance wasn't nearly as limited: they posted one of 55%.
Eastern Alamance's defense didn't let the opposing QB, get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for 4.5 sacks. Trinity Totten refused to say out of the backfield, picking up 1.5 sacks all by himself. He was another major factor on D, picking up 1.5 sacks and making eight total tackles (2.0 for loss).
Meanwhile, Hunt hadn't done well against Fike recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way two weeks ago. The Warriors strolled past the Golden Demons with points to spare, taking the game 50-34. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Warriors' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 50th, while the Golden Demons are ranked 207th).
The match pitted two dominant signal callers against one another in Mez Harris and Sam Finch. Harris had a great game and rushed for 116 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only ten carries. Meanwhile, Finch did his best for the losing side, throwing for 392 yards and four TDs.
Hunt didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Jamauris Howard. He has been hot recently, having also posted seven or more total tackles the last four times he's played. Hunt got some further help from CJ Dickerson: he picked up five sacks, made seven total tackles (6.0 for loss), and defended one pass.
Special teams was a major factor in the game for Hunt, racking up 12 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Howard, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.
The win made it two in a row for Hunt and bumps their season record up to 8-2. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 40.0 points over those games. As for Eastern Alamance, their record is now 5-6.
Everything came up roses for Eastern Alamance against Hunt in their previous meeting back in November of 2019, as the team secured a 48-14 win. In that contest, the Eagles amassed a halftime lead of 27-0, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
