The Reading Blue Devils will face off against the Bethel-Tate Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Reading will roll into the match after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs on Wednesday, then bounced right back against Mariemont on Monday. The Blue Devils put the hurt on the Warriors with a sharp 10-1 win. The Blue Devils haven't had any issues with the Warriors recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.
Kotah Brisbin made a big impact no matter where she played. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out six over four innings pitched. Brisbin was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, Hailey Mowell and Lillie Riedmiller did most of the damage at the plate: Mowell went 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two doubles, while Riedmiller went 4-for-5 with three stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. Those four hits gave Riedmiller a new career-high. Brooke Androne was another key player, going 2-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Reading was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .382. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mariemont only posted a batting average of .192.
Meanwhile, Bethel-Tate had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. Everything went their way against the Wildcats as they made off with a 13-5 win. Bethel-Tate's victory was all the more impressive since the Wildcats were averaging only 3.47 runs allowed on the season.
Kaylee Randolph spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned runs on ten hits.
At the plate, Kenzie Gillen was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, five runs, and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Ally Thompson, who went 2-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
Bethel-Tate pushed their record up to 8-5 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.2 runs over those games. As for Reading, their win bumped their record up to 10-4.
Tuesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Reading hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .409. However, it's not like Bethel-Tate struggles in that department as they've averaged .315. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Reading beat Bethel-Tate 12-7 when the teams last played back in March of 2019. Will the Blue Devils repeat their success, or do the Tigers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
