French Camp Academy hasn't had much luck against Sacred Heart recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Panthers will take on the Crusaders. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as French Camp Academy comes in on four and Sacred Heart on 16.
French Camp Academy is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Lumberton, sneaking past 8-6. Eight seems to be a good number for French Camp Academy as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Benjamin Wright made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off one hit. Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.
Wright wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Andrew Bain, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
French Camp Academy lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Sacred Heart hadn't done well against Stringer recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Crusaders came out on top against the Red Devils by a score of 5-2.
The team relied heavily on Brad Marrero, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.
Sacred Heart's victory was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 24-7. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.9 runs on average over those games. As for French Camp Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 19-8.
Friday's match might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. French Camp Academy has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .486. However, it's not like Sacred Heart struggles in that department as they've averaged .478. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
French Camp Academy might still be hurting after the 9-3 loss they got from Sacred Heart in their previous matchup back in May of 2021. Can the Panthers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
