Bronson is 0-10 against Branford since February of 2018 but things could change on Tuesday. The Bronson Eagles will be playing in front of their home fans against the Branford Buccaneers at 7:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Bronson is headed into Tuesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their eighth straight game dating back to last season on Tuesday. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost an 11-10 heartbreaker at the hands of Riverside Christian.
E Holder put in work while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Holder was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-1.
In other batting news, Tristen ONeal made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March of 2024. Zach McClelland was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Meanwhile, Branford posted their biggest victory since March 14, 2024 on Friday. They put the hurt on Crescent City with a sharp 10-1 win. With that victory, the Buccaneers brought their scoring average up to 6.8 runs per game.
Like Bronson, Branford also got a great game from a two-way player: Enalee Perry. On the mound, Perry struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Meanwhile, Holston Frazier kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over four innings pitched. At bat, Perry scored a run while going 1-for-4, while Frazier scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-2. Perry also hit a double, marking his first of the season.
In other batting news, Patrick Williams and Kyler Williamson did most of the damage at the plate: Williams scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4, while Williamson went a perfect3-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. Williams also put up a triple, which washis first of the season. Another player making a difference was Jackson Skinner, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.
Branford's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2-1. As for Bronson, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.
Bronson might still be hurting after the 9-0 loss they got from Branford in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. Can Bronson avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
