The Coffee Trojans will be playing in front of their home fans against the Tift County Blue Devils at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Tift County took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Coffee, who comes in off a win.
Even though Fitzgerald scored an imposing 65 points on Saturday, Coffee still came out on top. Coffee managed a 71-65 victory over Fitzgerald. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Coffee.
Junitho Benson was the offensive standout of the contest as he scored 21 points along with 7 rebounds and 6 assists. That makes it two consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Coffee's points. Another player making a difference was Jeremiah Bazell, who scored 12 points.
Tift County kicked off their season on the road on Saturday and hit a couple of potholes. They took a hard 44-28 fall against Valdosta.
Tift County's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Corey Howard, who scored 4 points along with 11 rebounds, and Malachi Evans who scored 4 points.
Coffee's victory lifted them to 2-0 while Fitzgerald's loss dropped them down to 0-3.
Coffee came up short against Tift County in their previous meeting back in January, falling 50-43. Can Coffee avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
