The Wood County Christian Wildcat and the Beallsville Blue Devils will face off at 7:00 p.m. on February 2nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Wood County Christian is out to stop a ten-game streak of losses at home dating back to last season.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 83-42, which was the final score in Wood County Christian's tilt against the Cee Bees on Friday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Wood County Christian came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' West Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 121st, while the Cee Bees are ranked 427th).
Meanwhile, Beallsville scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 54-52 victory over Hundred. The win was some much needed relief for Beallsville as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.
Wood County Christian's loss dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Beallsville, their victory bumped their record up to 2-13.
Wood County Christian beat the Blue Devils 43-33 when the teams last played back in December of 2023. Will Wood County Christian repeat their success, or do the Blue Devils have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
