The biggest upset of the week belonged to Tivy, who took down 126th ranked Hays, 31-10. Will Stuckey ran for 140 yards and caught three passes for 40 yards in the win.
Alamo Heights extended the longest winning streak in 4A Region IV District 27 this week by beating Seguin, 39-32. The victory was the fourth in a row for the team.
Boerne-Champion's dynamic duo of Kyle Poeske and Spencer Jarzombek proved tough for Lehman to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Poeske threw for 229 yards and Jarzombek had 89 yards receiving. Chandler Ruble helped Boerne-Champion's passing attack out by catching four balls for 57 yards.
CJ McKinney was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 188 yards on 21 carries as Lockhart beat Lehman. Teammate Marcos Rodriguez added to the ground attack by rushing for 73 yards.
Boerne-Champion's Poeske and Jarzombek have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Poeske has thrown for 1778 yards this season, while Jarzombek, a 6-foot-1 receiver, has 34 catches for 545 yards. The Lions' McKinney leads the league in rushing yards with 643.
The top two teams in 4A Region IV District 27 will face off this week when first place Lockhart takes on second place Hays. Last week, Lockhart defeated Clemens, while the Rebels fell to the Antlers.
The Lions moved up to 418 from 555 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. A 36-14 win over the Buffaloes helped Lockhart improve its standing.
