The Red Lake Warriors will head out on the road to face off against the Nevis Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Red Lake has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since January 19.
Last Friday, Red Lake was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 48-43 to the Wildcats.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Rhianna May, who scored eight points along with 17 rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Northbird, who scored seven points along with eight rebounds and five steals.
Meanwhile, Nevis pushed their score all the way to 58 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 68-58 to Cass Lake-Bena. Nevis has been going strong on the season, but this is now their second defeat in a row.
Red Lake's loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-15. As for Nevis, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-6.
Red Lake was dealt a bruising 72-20 defeat at the hands of the Tigers when the teams last played back in December of 2023. Can Red Lake avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
