The Barr-Reeve Vikings had already won 11 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 24.3 points), and they went ahead and made it 12 on Saturday. They walked away with a 39-26 victory over North Daviess. This was payback for Barr-Reeve, who suffered a 63-49 loss the last time these two teams met.
Leading Barr-Reeve to victory were Seth Wagler and Evan Wehmeier. Wagler scored nine points along with seven steals, while Wehmeier scored 11 points along with two steals and two blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Braydon Knepp, who scored six points.
Barr-Reeve pushed their record up to 13-1 with that victory, which was their seventh straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.1 points per game. As for North Daviess, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Barr-Reeve will take on Shoals at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Shoals will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings (they are ranked 318th, while Barr-Reeve is ranked 67th). As for North Daviess, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Clay City at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Clay City will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
