Waverly put another one in the bag  on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They took down the Pius X Thunderbolts 22-7. The Vikings have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Thunderbolts, too.
Waverly was led to victory by  Nathan Axmann and  Brockston Teply.  Axmann rushed for 102 yards and a pair of  touchdowns, while  Teply threw for 176 yards and one  TD. Axmann's rushing production has been exceptional  as that marked his fifth straight game with at least 102  rushing yards.
 Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Waverly proved: they limited Pius X to a paltry 1.4 yards per carry. The Vikings' ground attack was stronger, having averaged 3.8.
Waverly's record is now 9-0. As for Pius X, they now  have a losing record of 4-5.
 The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Waverly will take on Northwest on Friday. Northwest will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more  points each  game than the last. As for Pius X, they will challenge Elkhorn North at 8:00  p.m.  on Friday.
