Montrose is 2-8 against Elk Lake since May of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Meteors are taking a road trip to challenge the Warriors at 4:30 p.m. Elk Lake took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Montrose, who comes in off a win.
Montrose will bounce into Wednesday's contest after beating Blue Ridge, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Meteors came out on top against the Raiders by a score of 6-1 on Monday. The victory was familiar territory for the Meteors, who have now won three games in a row.

Christopher McGee and Hudson Aukema made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, McGee didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over four innings pitched. Meanwhile, Aukema struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). McGee also tossed a walk, which is notable because Montrose is 4-1 when he allows at most two walks, but 3-4 otherwise. At bat, McGee went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI, while Aukema went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. McGee is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.
In other batting news, Adam Sorensen was excellent, going 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, one double, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Lukas Cokely, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.
Meanwhile, Elk Lake unfortunately witnessed the end of their nine-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of Holy Redeemer by a score of 3-2. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Warriors couldn't push the score so high this time.
Elk Lake saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alden Felker, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.
Elk Lake's defeat dropped their record down to 10-2. As for Montrose, their record is now 7-5.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Montrose has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Elk Lake struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 4.2 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
