If the Mountain Range Mustangs were riding high off their 74-23 takedown of the Conifer Lobos on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Mountain Range was the victim of a tough 63-37 defeat at the hands of Overland on Tuesday.
Despite the loss, Mountain Range saw an underclassman step up: Delilah Lucero scored 13 points along with eight rebounds. Lucero scored a full 35.1% of Mountain Range's points, the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Bella Lucero, who scored ten points.
Ilaisaane (Saane) Davis was her usual excellent self, scoring ten points along with eight steals for Overland. Those eight steals set a new season-high mark for her. Michaela Halton was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with four steals and three blocks.
Mountain Range's defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Overland, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-1.
Mountain Range and Northglenn will face off at 5:30 p.m. on December 20th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Northglenn is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games. Overland and Standley Lake will face off at 7:00 p.m. on December 20th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
